Dandelion was the sweet blue girl who came in with lumpy Darby. She had a small tumour that I watched like a hawk but it never grew much. Unfortunately my lovely girl developed confusing and mild PT symptoms, so I started her on dex and things improved but she developed a bad head tilt so I thought maybe she had inner ear infection instead since the PT symptoms weren't completely definitive.
So I treated aggressively with antibiotics and things improved. A week later I came home to her completely tilted again, flopping on her side and unable to walk.
I gave her another injection of dex and by the next night she was almost upright again...so this time I kept her on dex every 2 days and she was fine...then one night even on this regime she was tilted and floppy again...I took her out and discovered she was cool, and she was ready to leave, so we didn't fight it this time. My poor sweet love took her time, but finally and abruptly left me at 2 am.Darby misses her sister but is still "unkind" to other rats so I haven't found her a friend yet...thankfully she loves to just run so hopefully this is enough for now.
