Ezzie

Ezzie - August 2011 to January 12, 2014 :'(

Ezzie was a leftover rescue from an adoption out of HH rescue. Her cagemates were adopted out but the morning of the adoption, an inguinal tumour was found so she was pulled from the group. I offered to take her, hoping she would be well enough as an older girl to have the tumour removed. Very quickly lovely Kate offered to pick her up and bring her to me on the bus. And once again Kate and I met at a subway stop to transfer rats. Unfortunately along with her age and the tumour, Ezzie also had a bad respiratory infection. I was going to see my mom that weekend, so brought little Ez with me so I could bond with her and continue her URI treatment. My mom loooved her and Ezzie was very sweet. licking and cuddling. :) Once I got her home though, she decided she would prefer to be more hands off and had a fantastic time running. In time I also got her in with my oldies crew where she made some new good friends from rats that normally didn't like other rats.

The URI never cleared up and all I could do was manage her symptoms. :( I always knew when Ezzie wasn't feeling great, she would become cuddly and clingy...my heart would drop when my feisty girl started acting like this. Then I would get her stabilized again and off she would go, the independent soul that she was. external image beatingheart.gif~original

I wish I had gotten more pics of her with her friends. She really did love them so.
