Galileo - Dec. 2009 to Dec. 11, 2012 :'(
Galileo and Spazz were with a young woman, who didn't want them/didn't have time for them anymore.
She also has all these ads up talking about how she cannot afford formula and diapers for her baby,
so I was pretty sure the rats wouldn't be treated properly. She couldn't find them a home and needed
them gone ASAP, so faithful Jenny drove off to pick up the boys for me.
Both boys were much older and both rats had thinning patchy, unhealthy coats from lice, and were very
very hungry. I quickly changed Spazz's name to Medici and he was a very worried boy for most of his life.
Galileo on the other hand was in his element, such a sweet loving boy right from the beginning :)
VERY happy in his first hammock at Jenny's home.

Home with me at last!

Then we lost lovely Johari at only a year old, and soon after we lost scared ..at least Galileo still had Loki and Rufus.
They actually depended on him more than he on them. One night Gali had injured his leg and I kept him out with me overnight and gave him
metacam to help with his leg. The next morning I found Rufus was still sitting on the ledge anxiously waiting for his Gali to come back to him.

Galileo always had orange skin on his back but then he developed some nasty scurfy skin so would occasionally get "back baths" which were most unappreciated LOL

This boy lived for his friends and his cuddles/scratches.
Lying in my lap getting strokes was a daily routine. Then the ear rubs and the buggy eyes LOL

and finally the itchy back scritches...his little hind legs would scratch like a dog, and he would curl around to lick me in thanks LOL

Then another young rat loss in Rufus and it was only Gali and Loki...she would spend half her time in her upstairs bunkbed and half with Gali in his house.
By now his HED had really progressed and I had discovered a tumour on the inside of his hind leg. I ended up introducing Willow to Loki and when those two hit
it off so well Galileo joined Keiran and Cesar in an Oldie Cage. Gali was so wonderful with all rats he often was companion rat to patients going to the vet, so he has been there many times. He even went in with Shimei even though they were often out together but didn't live together.

And lastly 3 days ago Bean entered Gali's life. A lonely young feeder boy who fell in love with my sweet old now 3 year old boy. He slept near him, or let Galileo use him as a pillow.
Poor Bean, he finally has a real friend and has to lose him so fast. I hope Keiran will comfort him.

Rest well sweet boy, I love you and will miss you sleeping by my side. *heart*
