Kittie

Kittie January 2008 – January 22, 2010

We (Mumsyrat and I) drove pretty far to pull these babies out of a terrible hoarding-type situation. Managed to get 15 out of there, I had 8 and she took in 7. The baby boys were adopted very fast and it was only the 5 girls left :P The babies were from 2 litters, one born on Jan 12, and the other on Jan 17th…Kittie was from the older litter.
They just loved their new cage, the baby cereal, running and climbing, until they got all tuckered out.

I adopted out the 3 younger girls to a vet, but no one wanted the 2 black older girls. They just weren’t as sweet, and such people magnets as the other 3, so they stayed :)

Asti and Kittie finally ended up joining Carina’s group (CSB)

Both my Tiki girls were more hands-off and really only liked me for Out time, treats, food, etc…you know…Resident Rat Slave! They were very happy in their group and that’s what mattered.

Then I noticed my fat Kittie-cat was looking rough and wobbly…she fell and gashed her head L She then failed the Cheerio test and after more observation…sigh…PT.

The next sad thing was she only mildly responded to steroid therapy, and after she was unable to get up the ramps of the FN, I moved her out onto her own cage on my bed. This is where the real story begins. She wobbled around, got lots of yummy food, and learned that cuddling was not a scary thing. She loved the scratches of her itches and her little hind leg would scratch like a dog when I hit The Spot. She liked me helping her groom, the daily meals of Ensure and soft foods, the falling asleep on me, warm and cuddled up. :D

Tonight she was just sleeping on my chest, had a couple of seizures and was gone. I thought I was prepared…I was not.

Kittie is survived by her sister Asti, Maline (Keely’s mom) and the infamous Carina Snake Biter, and I believe her little brother Joe with mamarat.

Go cause some serious mayhem my darling!!!
