Luna 2

Luna - January 2011 to August 19, 2013

Luna was one of the lucky ones...no horrible neglectful past, no dire circumstances but a sad young owner who had to rehome her quickly. Jenny picked her up and found a lovely but older girl who was very gentle and sweet who LOVED her food. She arrived just after my birthday. external image beatingheart.gif~original
I was hoping she would be the next companion for my fearful Niagara Nakie Norby but he never accepted her...Shimei was the love of his life and she was gone too soon. Lovely Luna wouldn't stay alone long though.

She became the Auntie to the sickly babies Bella and Chilly...she was soo patient with the little monsters LOL

She was always grateful for scratches and rubs and just any loving she could get *lick lick*

The Happy Group of 3 rapidly expanded with the addition of Clare, Bree, and Milton the older neutered boy. Luna was getting rounder and older, but still oooh so happy :)

ALL for me????

The Happy Cage got split up after awhile, with new young girls joining Chilly and Bella, and with Luna going with Clare, Bree, Milton, Adella and Yara. They were an older cage and happy to run around but not get pounced on all the time..a real retirement group.

Luna lived for Out time, and part of it would be spent sprawled over my chest so I could rub her, stroke her and massage her...she was so good for me. Sadly not long ago Luna showed the signs of PT and was put on bromocriptine. It seemed to be working for her but then she regressed quickly. I saw her rumba off, her hind end very wobbly with HED and discussed with Jenny over IM whether I should start her on dexamethasone the next morning, but sadly she was gone by then, I actually found her on her belly under the bed the next morning. No muss, no fuss...a fast quiet ending to a beautiful girl. I just had her out to give her some extra soft foods, and left her friends in the cage. Her group acted very strangely for them that night. Old Adella curled up in the bottom of the cage, and always-moving Clare was cuddled up to her, and Bree was curled into Clare's body...and they stayed like that for about 2 hours. I was sure Adella was leaving us as she's very old, but then they got up and moved into their normal sleeping places, so I wonder if they felt that Luna was leaving? My lovely lovely Luna, we all miss you.
