Marsky

Marsky - March 10, 2010 to August 20.,2012

I heard a sound I wasn’t sure I wanted to hear…my heart sank. I actually had to cut open a hammock to get my lovely Misu and her newborn sons out. This is when I realized that a wild rat had impregnated my girl. 

I decided I would need to socialize the heck out of those 2 big babies. They were called the Behemoths very very early in life, for good reason!

Marsky seemed to be the more reserved boy at first but he ended up the sweet brave one in the end.

Java became hormonal first but Marsky, like a good brother, followed suit soon after.  Of course they were neutered. 


My very happy licky boy. But no matter how much they smiled, I could never let myself forget they were half-wild. :P


Sadly Marsky developed pulmonary abscesses at 16 months old and the slow decline began. 



I knew how much Java depended on his sick brother for everything, and I was terrified that he would be utterly lost when we lost Marsky, which could be at anytime. By now the Halfie Boys were Old Halfie Boys and had mellowed so I introduced my boys to a group of ladies and reunited them with some old girlfriends. It was the very best thing I could’ve done!
Both boys brightened up and were so very happy with their new life 


Sadly we surprisingly lost Java first exactly a month ago w, and Marsky became quite sick a couple of weeks ago. He became a Bed Rat or even a Desk Rat most of the time. He gained a new friend in sick Hermes, and Hermes cuddled up with my old sick brave boy, even though he was sick himself.

Today I knew Marsky had had enough, so I took him in to see Dr Munn one last time. I am sure Hermes is going to miss his new friend.
