Oliver - March 2009 to May 30, 2011
Oliver was just a older boy whose owner didn’t want him anymore…she wanted a skinny pig instead and wanted to keep it in his teeny former cage. He looked sad, old and possibly very sick in his pics. LA arranged to pick him up and then drove all the way down there, and knocked on their door. No answer. Called them, no one picked up. So she sadly had to leave. :undecided:
But being the persevering soul that she is, she tried again and finally got “Mighty Mouse” as he was occasionally called. Luckily he was in decent shape besides being way too skinny.
Eventually she brought him down to me and he became Oliver.
He was such a sweet, manly boy, not good with other rats, but happy with his humans. He was a healthy boy until he started having some strange symptoms in the last few weeks…and they kept continuing with no response at all to treatment. This morning I just knew it was time, he was still relatively happy, but there wasn’t going to be a cure for my boy, we weren’t even sure what was wrong with him, so I let him go.
He looks sooo young here but it was only 7 months ago!

More comfy

But then the bad things started happening
His last comfy sprawl out

Today while we were waiting to be taken care of in the clinic waiting room, he lay in my arms and he bruxxed and even boggled for me. He loved to lie in my arms and be patted, it was almost better than running around. My little gentleman was calm and peaceful up to the last.
