Pippens - July 10/03 to Aug. 22,/06
Pippens was 1 of 4 older boys I took in when they needed a home. Pippens was the frailest and skinniest of the lot of them and I really didn't think he would live long. Did he ever fool me! He bulked up and became as healthy as a horse so that he lived with me for 11 months. Pips was my clown of the bunch, he was sweet and funny, but definitely not an "old soul" LOL These guys taught me so much of the joy of boyrats. His 2 brothers have passed a while ago now, and Sebastian the cagemate is living with his harem and he's old too, but like Pips still going strong and cheerfully.
Just before his 3rd year birthday I found a tumour on my sweet boy under his rib cage. We decided against surgery due to his age and figured that the tumour would not affect him since he would most likely pass before. Wrong again. This brave boy just kept going and was a happy boy trundling around my apartment until only a couple of days ago. He was unhappy and tired and the bright-eyed look was gone
I took him in to my vets today and we decided to let him go, while he wasn't suffering and with some dignity.
Bounce around at the bridge my happy little Clown!!
