Summer

Summer - May 2007 to May 31, 2009

Summer was one of my foster girls who arrived on January 25, 2009, with a dirty cage, and a older cagemate with PT…as soon as I saw Precious with her limpness, knuckling etc, I knew that they would be staying. I was taking them in as a favour to rehome them for someone highly allergic and also much older and not capable of caring for them properly. They had been at a friend’s place for months and obviously not getting the care they should’ve been. :(

I knew Precious wouldn’t have long ith PT, and there was no way I would adopt out a single so I absorbed her into the Mini-Horde, where she made new friends.

She was a mostly no-touch girl, didn’t like being picked up, but grew to like scratches and stroking in the hammock. Sadly the sweeter members of her colony were older and passed on one by one. It left her with an older bullyish type of girl and 4 young obnoxious girls. She dealt well for the most part. Especially when I put a donated Wodent Wheel in their cage. She loved it.

I tried to introduce her to Lady my one eyed girl who was sad after the loss of her cagemate and it seemed to go well, but then Lady got her mojo back and started to be very rude to Summer. Then I noticed those darn symptoms. Yep, another PT :( Her old cagemates took her back and never bothered her again, they must’ve felt she was now fragile, and even were cuddling up to her.

She was diagnosed last Saturday night and started treatment on Sunday and she died suddenly today in her cage. She looks like she dropped dead from her position.

I will miss my little blue girl whose eyes were finally warming when they saw me…with those fantastical dumbo ears.
