Taltos - Nov. 2007 - March 30, 2010 :’(
He was a big boy who had been used as a stud rat for some girl who bred for snakefood/pets in St. Catherines. He and his friend (I think he’s a son) were to be fed to the girl’s snake (her ex-breeders often got used that way when they weren’t useful anymore), but instead a “rescue” in St. Catherines took them in. She contacted me, saying she had too much on her plate, so I ended up (with the wonderful help of crackersandcola as always ;)) with 3 boys. Bean, Baloo and Taltos. They were all neutered and Bean was adopted to our Moon, where he lives happily with his girls. Baloo was a tricky soul but ended up with our Alicemcmallis where he has an old couple crotchety relationship with her sweet older lady Jewel. :laugh4:
And Taltos (or Talty if we are less formal) stayed with me. :D
he arrived in a long and narrow box from from the “rescue”…
After his lice were killed with Revolution we started working. He was very frightened, unsure and untrusting.
Here he is curious until I touch him…
Took him a little while and some heavy thought, but he decided he did like me eventually :D
Talty had his first seizures the night before the HHP show. I stayed home with him that day (fate maybe?) and he didn’t have anymore (I had given him dex to see if I could stop them and it worked). But he couldn’t live with his family anymore after his seizures/stroke so he became my first Bed Rat in a long time, and he LOVED it!!
Sleep all day, wake me up in the morning, demanding breakfast, come out for scratches then snooze again
Poppy ended up joining him, as she was alone, older and very very blind. She was very timid when anyrat/anyone touched her, but she tolerated Talty well. LOL
Brave old man, with HED, just kept loving life as long as he could :D
Finally the seizures/strokes caught up with him and my lovely boy ended up passing. I miss him so much. :( Poppy was lost without him until I gave her the couch and Maline.
Talty had one expression I likened to an underwear model or even Zoolander. But damn he did that one expression well!!!!
