Vickie - February 2012 to May 9, 2014
Nine months ago, I arranged to get a little girl from a young woman who was moving back in with her parents and they told her to "get rid of the rat". The only people that wanted this little girl was so she would be food, so when I contacted her she was very happy. She seemed to have loved her little girl, and supposedly took care of her.
So I went to a faraway subway station and played the game in my head...did she mean to meet outside, or was I supposed to wait just inside the doors? It's always something I wonder about when you find out the subway station is not what you were expecting LOL. I waited inside as it was a hot hot day in August and the little lobby area was a bit cooler and out of the sun. I expected to meet the girl, but instead her boyfriend approached me (he had a living world plastic carrier in his hand), and I got my first glimpse of my new girl. A tiny black, tilty, rough-coated (mites of course) stinky scared girl, who tried to bite me on newspaper.

I got her home and she warmed up fast. I treated her itchy mites and realized she also had a URI...poor older lass. I was told she was 18 months old. She was a darling little thing

She wasn't alone for long...10 days later I took in a "biter" girl I named Bryony and they bonded instantly.

Even when they had knocked their sputnik mostly loose it didn't matter, they jammed into there and were content.

Then the babies started rolling in, and Vickie and Byony would take care of them, until they went to their new homes...

Then neutered Liam joined them and the fun really began. Now they weren't taking in babies but younger females, frightened, nervous or nippy...Bryony and Vickie were a good rehab team

But boy did Vickie love to play and run when she was off-duty

Sadly age comes to us all, and her original URI came back, along with her inner ear infection. I found her wobbling around and pulled her out of the cage . She quickly went downhill and left us all heartbroken. Goodbye sweet tilty girl..with your bright eyes and lovely attitude.
Old Vickie

She had an appetite for life....yummmm
