Alyssum Feb 2008 to March 5, 2010
Alyssum was one of the group of Moncton Monsters I took in on June 21, 2008. Mom Hazel was older but her 4 daughters were about 5 months old. This group of 5 was about to be left behind at a “rescue” in Moncton, New Brunswick, so I threw them into my shopping cart of rats to adopt from this sad situation. None of them had names so I named them after flowers. What a mistake that was, they were NOT flower-like.
Alyssum started off such a pretty rat, then became big and bossy. She was one of my Main Instigators of Mayhem. They all took me for granted. They crashed and banged through my life. No gratitude, just pure attitude. They hated other rats, and were huffer puffer’s if anyone came near. Alyssum became 2nd in command in the cage.
They arrived after 9 hours on the road in Vanessa’s car (thank you V!!) and you would think they would be tired? Nope. NEW Cage? Ran and explored for hours!
She was soo beautiful, dark sleek black.
The Party Girls moved into the top of the FN (Alyssum on right)
then were moved promptly out again, as they were the fleece destroyers, non-litterbox using rats.
Back they went into a Martins to happily destroy their hammocks inside, and to shove things off tables when Out.
I tried once more in the FN hoping age had mellowed them …Ummm…NOT.

Alyssum at 23 months
and a more recent pic once she had contracted PT. She became a very sweet , loving girl then, and we spent many a night cuddling together.
Lyssie quietly slipped from my life, sleeping cuddled up to me this morning.
