Hawk - November 2012 to March 7, 2015
I picked up 3 boys from this young guy on the other side of my city. Of course it was in the middle of a crazy windstorm, but the 3 boys and the current owner needed me to come that night. The current owner had gotten these boys from another friend, but discovered he was crazy allergic to them. The young guy (early 20's) already had an auto-immune issue and was unable to touch these lads after ending up in the hospital the week before. he was really nice and I even cleaned out the cage and dumped it out on the balcony so he wouldn't have to attempt to touch it. The boys were Coyote, Hawk and Badger. They were skinny, buggy, and starved for a clean cage and attention plus food. I got them home and found horrible wounds on their tails, probably infections from the unclean conditions prior to this guy getting them. They were a bit nervous but fairly friendly. Coyote was very active and not interested in stopping for cuddles, Badger was a bit suspicious of everything and was standoffish. But Hawk... *heart* As soon as I touched him, rubbed his itchy old ears, gave him a nice back scratch, he decided people were the best thing since sliced bread LOL All the boys had URI's but it was more of a maintenance thing from old lungs, rather than virulent infection...sadly Hawk was the first old lad to go...I was very sad he didn't get long with us :(
I'm finally clean!!
