Lilly - November 2011 to April 21, 2014
The ad was put up Thursday night with a "2 rats MUST be gone by Sunday". I called and asked about them and was told they were 2 girls, they said they were 3 years old, had many litters each...his wife had just had a baby, and they needed to get rid of the animals as they didn't have time for them anymore. I knew the address he gave me, it was a big time feeder breeder who dumped all his stock last year but I guess he kept these girls. I was told they were friendly, and was offered a completely balanced diet of dog food as he would no longer need the bag.

The cage with pine dumped into it and a cookie in their bowl on top of the "balanced diet dog food"

What the pine hid...

The little smeeze girl nipped, and hard, but I was sure that would pass, and it did in time...but for awhile I would jump whenever she caught me off guard. For awhile there I was sure she was just having fun doing it, then she finally stopped. I named her black friend Laury in honour of a wonderful woman I had never met but knew online. She had her cancer recur and decided to live her life with dignity and refuse treatment. I named the smeeze Lilly after that woman Laurie's mom.
Lilly was super active, didn't pose well and once she learned about Out time, that was it...gone! She would visit, nipping me in the beginning and later just coming to say Hi. She was never cuddly but always handleable

Laury and Lilly

Sadly Lilly always had a little chirp that kept coming back and was on antibiotics over and over, but she rarely acted sick, rushing to the front of the cage for her antibiotic treatmetns and trying to steal the syringe from the others LOL One day I noticed she was not rushing the door. I went and pulled her out and she just seemed wrong, I am not sure what happened with my little lady, but she left in my arms that night.
Poor beautiful girl.

That last day
