I met him on Sunday morning at 10:35 am, and he left me at 6:22 am this morning. I was hoping for a week or more, but only got 3 ½ days. [
We went through our new routine, of feeding, then the beloved scratches and rubs, then the rinse off in the sink to get rid of the skin and loose hairs. Then comes the rubdown with the towel, and then help with grooming the Nasty Wet off. After that is a bit of trundling around, and finally dozy time. Where he would cuddle up on my chest and I would talk to him and stroke his head until he was asleep. Valora would go off to her basket at this point and settle down for her nap.
I would watch TV and this time fell asleep. I woke up at 3 am with him on me, and laid him down on the couch still sleeping. This boy could sleep hard and deep :)
I put Valora back in her cage, and then went to get Max. I stopped and had a feeling. I decided that Max would be staying with me tonight, and I was right. He had a seizure at 5 am, which woke me up. I stroked him and encouraged him to go, but he was a tough little bugger and stuck around until after 6 am blinking at me as I kissed him and stroked him. Then he slipped away.
I haven’t had another rat instantly enter my heart like this since Gwinny. I loved him for the little time we had and I think he knew. He met quite a few rats in a short time, and Valora was cuddling him a lot yesterday, until I took over.
I wish I had known him earlier. I am sorry Andrea that you lost your little man, he truly was special.
A little help please!

Sleep tight little man
