Ria (formerly Misty) ??? – Nov. 25/09 :’(
Misty (quickly renamed Ria as I kept thinking of Chincoteague ponies) arrived on Sunday morning. In the tub carrier she and her cagemates were in, I could see she wasn’t feeling well at all. But when we pulled her out, dosed her with Revolution and took her first pics, she seemed to be much brighter.
I was really looking forward to getting to know this sweet, bright-eyed agouti hooded beauty but the next morning she was much worse..
We started sub-q injections and it seemed to help…for a little while
Today she spent most of her time on or near me. Even cuddled up to my jealous Monkey, who was very kind to her. Ria finally let me know that she wanted to be back in her cage with her friends. Literally within 7 minutes of being back with her friends, she crawled out of the hammock, ran/fell to the bottom of the ramp, and stood wobbling. I ran for the cage, but she fell over, seized once and was gone.
I really really wanted to get to know this little girl, but I guess her body was just too tired and worn out to fight.
