Tabitha

Tabitha - October 2011 to June 8, 2014

Tabitha was a leftover from when CCH finally closed its doors. On that special day, I ended up taking in 4 CCH rats and Tabitha was the single mom who had a bad reputation. After raising her litter and her babies adopted out, they put a sick strange girl in with her and the next morning she was dead. My guess is the sick girl died and Tabitha didn't actually kill her.

Tabitha was very nervous and could be aggressive with rats, so sadly for the longest time I could not find friends for her, but worked on her attitude.

She was sooo beautiful...and so wary. She would use those teeth if she felt like it, more warnings than real bites though.

I tried her with lonely old neutered Smitty but she was rough on him, and he for all his bulk, was a very sensitive soul. They lived together until Smitty showed signs of PT and I pulled him from her "tender care" as she didn't have a nursing bone in her body and would knock him off shelves. 







After a time, I ended up trying her with neutered, frightened and formerly very hormonal Sully...it REALLY worked. 

9 months after she arrived, a love affair was born. 







and then she took a very troubled young man under her wing and it was a real May - December relationship. Nate adored his Tab, and she seemed to adore him right back.
