Valene - March 2012 to Sept. 24, 2014
Her sister left this morning, but plucky little Valene held out a bit longer, being the last of the Montreal Ladies to leave me. She was the healthy one of the group, a bit distrusting at first, screaming when touched initially, but slowly learning to trust me and to enjoy touch. The first sign something was wrong was this manic circling then she started showing definitive signs of PT, she got the dex injection, and was put onto bromocriptine, but it only worked for a very short period of time...lovely Valene's body was wearing out and time was against her.
We lost Triesse first in July, with PT...then Balera in August, with PT. Then Valene developed it, and recently Adira showed symptoms along with all her other issues. These girls were heart breakers, I was supposed to give them life-saving surgeries when they arrived and they were to live happy long lives after that, but it wasn't in the cards...more tumours both mammary and other, a small bout of pyoderma for Valene and finally PT to put the cherry on the sundaes. Such lovely girls, it just wasn't long enough since they arrived in late February. :(
Her shelter pic, she was always the chubbiest of the little girls.
