Maeja

Maeja -  December 2013 to Jan. 11, 2017

Maeja and her sisters were picked up by Jenny along with a baby boy and a slighter older baby boy, and 4 tiny malnourished orphans that she raised.  The owner was habitual at dumping these poor rats at the Hamilton Animal Control and one of the 5 girls actually escaped in her car, and she found her in the glovebox, so she had to bring her back again.  I agreed to take the 5 little HAC girls who were around 8 weeks old.  They were funny and gorgeous and all had different personalities.

Maeja was a bit spooky all her life, but loved her sisters very much,  The agouti's of the family were so much more social and friendly compared to the black and whites, but she wasn't quite as bad as her sister Pala.  Maeja was a real survivor, making it to 38 months old before going.  She'd been battling weird issues on top of chronic respiratory but was a bright, active little oldster.  She had to come to my mom's every month for our weekend visits because she was on a soft food diet, and that meant her sister Svana came with us as well to her delight.

She was a beautiful girl all her life and a tough little bean to boot.  Rest well Maeja, rejoin your 3 sisters and wait on Svana.

Taking care of tiny baby Dale at Jenny's even though she wasn't much older than him.  She was a caring girl.

The other baby-face of the group :)
