Nasty Asti - Jan. 12, 2008 – Feb. 20, 2010
The last of the leftover Tiki babies, Asti was named after Astrid/Wonderrodent, and she was a feisty ratgirl who knew her own mind. Cuddling and licking humans? Not for her!!! Exploring and beating up others was much more her style. She never really grew to love me the way most of them do, but that is fine, she had a beautiful strong spirit and I wanted to keep that intact.
She came from a terrible hoarding situation in Welland, Ontario.
Two litters had been born by an oopsie (or so we thought) until we really started asking questions. The babies were kept with the mom’s in 1” bar spaced Superpets, in a room full of Intact boys who wandered in and out of the open cage. The whole place was revolting and reeked.
We managed to convince the girl to let us take 15 babies to rehome, and Asti and her sister ended up staying with me as they weren’t as nice as the other babies, and no one wanted to adopt them.
Asti developed chronic URI at 11 months and at around 20 months 3 tumours popped up at the same time. They never really affected her as it was a respiratory infection that took my girl down. She wasn’t improving even after oral and injectable meds, so I had her pts today. Nasty Asti was feisty to the end, the tech commented. :).
