Connor

Connor Jan 2009 - Jan 28 2011

I didn’t get to know you as well as I would’ve liked. You were just one timid boy in a group of 28 that we took for a horrifying situation from Rats Town Rattery (RTR) on June 2nd, 2010. You seemed like a nice rat, and you got the boy’s name from The Terminator…not overt strength, but strength of will instead. At one point you were sent to foster and ended up with Waco, who was not a nice boy to you. Once you came back, I realized how unhappy you truly were and decided to split you and Waco up. But before I did so, you became very ill and had to spend the night with me and Eli on the bed…Eli loved you from the start but you weren’t sure this naked stranger wasn’t going to lose it on you like Waco used to. It took a few days for you to realize Eli would be a true friend to you. I wonder if you remembered each other from your Rattery Days? You and Eli were only together for 20 whole days (it really did feel a LOT longer as the strength of their bond was incredible) and you and I got to know each other very well. You were so very sweet, but had a devilish streak with feet…owowow! You grew to love being body stroked as you lay near me, and would lift your head to smell my mouth gently as if you are curious what I was. On the last 3 days you gave me a lot of wonderful, never to be forgotten kisses. Today I had to make the choice to let you go with love as the respiratory issue that wouldn’t respond to antibiotics or treatment finally became too much for you. You were my wonderful boy Connor.

Much love,
Mom.

How I will always remember you.
