Sophie Face Muncher - Sept 2011 - Sept 25, 2014
Elise was the reason I took in these 2 rats from a former rescue in February 2013. They were recent intakes but Elise had a tumour on her nose, and the rescue was unable to help her at the time, so I took her and her sister in to get her the medical help Elise needed. Of course they didn't have names, so I had the honour.
Sophie was the dumbo girl that looked like butter wouldn't melt in her mouth. Elise was the more timid girl with the mass.

Elise would prefer I didn't touch her and she was a screamer...she's still very worried about hands but much more comfortable now. She and Sophie were also very dominant and territorial with others so it was always just the 2 of them. *rub rub puff* Elise lived for Sophie and Sophie lived for her wheel...her last day she was still running (not ambling or toddling but running) in her wheel...at 3 years of age!
Sophie was a brave girl soon after she arrived, but sadly she had a quirk that made it hard to trust her.
My first experience was when I was lying down watching TV. Sophie and Elise had been there a few months now and both were a lot more friendly and relaxed. Sophie kept trying to get near my face and I just kept gently pushing her away as I don't usually let new rats near my face unless I am holding them and controlling the situation...I think she got more and more frustrated at this. One second she was beside me, the next she jumped on my stomach and launched herself at my face...I only had time to close my eyes. Crunch!

I was very lucky and it honestly was the scariest bite of all my bite experiences.
On the next Out time I was even more careful and wouldn't let her anywhere near my face, so she bit the back of my neck..sigh. After this Out time with these girls meant me on my computer with my face high in the air. She became sweeter and sweeter over time, and would cuddle in my arms, bruxxing and boggling but she still wanted desperately to be up near my face...which I couldn't allow anymore.
Silly little Sophie Face Muncher...such a pretty girl, and she always looked sooo gentle and sweet LOLOL
